How to Root & Unroot Micromax A116 Canvas HD

Micromax Canvas HD is one of the most popular smartphone among Canvas range. It’s quite strange to note even after the launch of upgraded smartphones like Canvas Doodle 2 and Canvas 4 this smartphone is still ranked the most favorite one among all. Not to forget this is one of the smartphone which went out of stock after its release for a long long time. I received lots of queries regarding the rooting guide for canvas HD so here I present the easiest and one of the fast way to root canvas HD A116.

Micromax canvas HD Rotting Guide
Before you start following the rooting guide, do read the FAQs which will help you to clear out some of your doubts.
Some FAQs:
  • Will I lose warranty?
Yes. You will but You can Unroot it and claim back or flash stock ROM with SPTools. This is a plus point of Canvas devices. :D
  • I rooted But my Android OS Version is still the same?
Well , rooting wont upgrade your OS , but rooting and installing recovery and flashing an upgraded version of OS will (Stay tuned for a guide of installing recovery and updating through it)
So this is the most easiest way of rooting your Canvas provided by me.

Micromax A116 Canvas HD Rooting Requirements

What You need ?
1.Drivers :
You can use the Cynus T1 drivers which can be downloaded from this link.
Or You can install PDANET and connect your phone to install drivers automatically.
Also Some readers reported that ‘motochopper’ does not work. If it doesn’t, then install Moborobo. It installs drivers for MT6589 based devices. Then use motochopper.
2. Phone :P
3. Motochopper  , this is a script based fast tool for rooting your device.

*Be sure to run it as admin.*

After this, You will find a Superuser application in your app drawer. Note Your phone is now fully rooted and you have full access over it.
Now we’ll guide you how you can Unroot your device. Unrooting may let you claim the warranty back iff the officials aren’t able to encounter that you rooted your phone in past.

How to Root (and Unroot) the Samsung Galaxy Y Duos (S6102)

How to Root (and Unroot) the Samsung Galaxy Y Duos (S6102)

The Samsung Galaxy Y Duos is a dual-SIMed newer sibling of the popular Galaxy Y and while there are any high-end features to write home about, it does suffice nicely for a entry-level device that has the major aspects Android covered.  The device sports  a 3.14-inch touchscreen display, an 832MHz CPU with 512MB RAM, and runs the age-old Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread firmware.  If you want to try something newer like ICS or even Jelly Bean on it, custom ROMs is the only way to go and to get there, you need to root the device and install a custom recovery on it.  Use the guide below to know how to root (and unroot if needed) the Galaxy Y Duos S6102. This guide only explains how to root and unroot galaxy y duos. And this is posted for you Rinu Abdul Rasheed.

I.  Before You Begin

1.  Back up everything you feel is important before you begin.
2.  Make sure you have charged your device to 75% or more before you begin.

II.  Necessary Downloads

2.  unroot.zip [File attached to this post]

III.  Rooting the Galaxy Y Duos

1.  Connect your device to your PC using a microUSB cable and copy the update.zip file you downloaded above to your SD card (Do not put it into any subfolders, just the main folder so the path is sdcard/update.zip).
2.  Power down your device and put it into recovery mode.  To do this, press and hold the Volume Up + Home + Power keys until you see the Samsung Galaxy Y logo and let them go after that.
3.  Use the Volume buttons to highlight “select update.zip from sdcard” and press the home button to select it.
4.  On the next screen, select update.zip, and then select Yes on the next screen.
5.  Once the flashing is done, go back to the main menu and reboot your device.
That’s it!  Your Galaxy Y Duos is now rooted!

IV.  Unrooting the Galaxy Y Duos

1. Uninstall all [Root] apps.
2. Download "unroot.zip"
